ABOUT SNOWBIRD, UT

The previous few years at Snowbird have been among the most revolutionary in the resort’s history, dating all the way back to 1971. Snowbird’s dedication to resort improvement has continued with the building of The Summit in December 2015, an extension of the Creekside Day Lodge, upgrades to The Cliff Lodge, and more snowmaking. Recent completed projects include a refurbishment of the Snowbird Center in 2018 that included the addition of guest space and toilets, as well as a new network of bridges connecting The Cliff Lodge, Snowbird Center, and Lower Village in 2019. SeventyOne, our newest eating facility, opened in 2019 and pays homage to our early beginnings with a refined, ’70s take on comfort cuisine and contemporary American gastronomy.

With renovations to its current cogeneration facility, Snowbird continues to define a more sustainable future for the ski industry. When finished and energized in 2021, the new Snowbird Power Systems plant will provide virtually all of the resort’s energy demands. The project will lessen Snowbird’s reliance on the conventional grid, resulting in a nearly energy-independent and more efficient operation. Snowbird’s commitment in the resort’s future continues with the upcoming introduction of the ZipWhipper, our newest summer activity installation. This attraction combines the excitement of a rock climbing wall with the adrenaline rush of a free fall. Completion is anticipated in the summer of 2022.
