BRIEF HISTORY – CITATION LONGITUDE

CESSNA | C700 | CITATION LONGITUDE (2019-PRESENT)
The Cessna Citation Longitude is the company’s flagship aircraft. The Longitude was announced in 2012 and took its maiden flight in 2016. Textron Aviation announced receiving its FAA Type Certification on September 23, 2019. On December 31, 2019 a fractional ownership company took delivery of its first Longitude from its order for 150, and entered service early in the first quarter of 2020. The Longitude is Cessna’s largest aircraft currently produced. The Longitude is classified as a super-midsize aircraft. The fuselage has the same cross-section as the Citation Latitude. The Longitude, on the other hand, has a T-shaped tail and an increased overall length distinguishing it from the Latitude’s rear end.

CABIN COMFORTS – CITATION LONGITUDE
As Cessna’s newest aircraft, it has cutting-edge interior technology. Cessna, for example, has built a completely wireless cabin management system that allows passengers to operate the cabin from any seat. Passengers may control lighting, temperature, and communications from their own device via the cabin management system. Cessna designed the cabin with a flat floor and six-foot ceiling, making the cabin easy to navigate. The Longitude’s basic design includes a double club seating configuration. Cessna claims that this gives 20% more legroom than the competition. For longer flights, all seats may be converted into lie-flat beds. A sizable wet galley is located at the front of the cabin. This allows you ample space for preparing food for the trip. No matter what time of day you fly, a beautiful dinner will be prepared for you.Normally, bags cannot be accessed during flight. The Longitude, on the other hand, features two large storage spaces. Near the flight deck is a 14 cu ft closet that can hold 115 lbs and a spacious walk-in luggage compartment located behind the mirror in the aft lavatory and is accessible throughout the journey. The compartment can hold up to 1,000 pounds (454 kg). The Longitudes’  incredibly quiet cabin is attributed to extensive work designing and applying soundproofing techniques throughout the cabin. The cabin has a noise level of 67 dB, most average around 80 dB while at cruising altitude. Cessna has also achieved a very low cabin altitude of only 5,950 feet. When these characteristics are combined, a calming environment is created. As a result, tranquility is ideal for performing business, resting, and conversing with fellow travelers. The Longitude has a partial recirculation system for air. This technology recycles a portion of the cabin’s air while simultaneously using new air to fill the cabin. Cessna verifies that HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Arrestance) filters are used in these systems. These filters are made up of a cluster of fibers that filter pathogens, dust, and other contaminants out of the air that is pumped through them. Typically, it takes roughly four minutes to accomplish a full volume swap. Because the engines compress and heat the external air, germs, bacteria, and viruses are eliminated.

POWER AND PERFORMANCE – CITATION LONGITUDE
The Cessna Citation Longitude is powered by two Honeywell HTF7700L engines positioned at the rear. Each engine generates 7,665 pound-feet of thrust. This results in a take-off distance of 4,810 ft. And a minimum landing distance of 3,170 feet. Cessna was very successful in developing the Longitude with an impressive range of 3,500 nautical miles. While the aircraft can carry up to 8 or 9 passengers, the range of 3,500 nautical miles is based on only four passengers. The Longitude’s Honeywell engines enable it to reach a maximum cruising speed of 483 knots and a maximum altitude of 45,000 feet avoiding all the weather and most of the air traffic below at 37,000 feet.

FLIGHT DECK – CITATION LONGITUDE
The Citation Longitude delivered some of the newest technology to the super-midsize segment upon its release, from a wireless cabin management system that puts you in charge of the interior from your seat to  the newest generation of the GARMIN G5000 avionics suite in the flight deck, giving pilots comprehensive touch-screen control of navigation and communication systems. The Citation Longitude aircraft has fully integrated auto-throttles and LINXUS software, the industry’s most comprehensive on-board diagnostic system, for optimal efficiency. The Citation Longitude aircraft supports eyes-up flying with an optional head-up display and increased visual capability. The roomy cockpit features easier access and an ergonomic design that prioritizes the comfort and efficiency of the crew and their processes. The Citation Longitude is also outfitted with LINXUS software, which is meant to save time and money. LinxUs and LinxUs Air, in conjunction with the Central Diagnostics Maintenance System (CDMS), serve as a fault-isolation system that continuously monitors the aircraft. Actionable solutions are delivered in real time in the case of an on-board incident, resulting in a speedier turnaround time to get the aircraft back in the air.
