BOMBARDIER GLOBAL 5500 (2020-PRESENT)
The Global 5500 is the latest addition, alongside the Global 6500, to Bombardier’s successful Global line of wide-cabin private jets. Which happens to extend all the way back to the early 1990’s with the Global Express. FoAfter being produced in Toronto and completed in Wichita, Kansas, the Canadian manufacturer’s newest milestone was delivered to its first client in Europe in June 2020.Although it is not the largest Global despite being one of the newest, the Global 5500 nevertheless offers an outstanding range of 5,900 nautical miles, which is sufficient to fly between New York and Tokyo or London and Singapore non stop. The Global 5500 boasts a max cruise speed of Mach 0.90 and is one of Bombardier’s fastest aircraft.

POWER AND PERFORMANCE – GLOBAL 5500
The Global 5500 is powered by a pair of incredibly engineered Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines and has a maximum thrust of 15,125 pounds each while emitting nearly half the carbon dioxide and one-fifth the nitrous oxide. It is two decibels quieter, consumes 7% less gasoline, and has almost 10 percent more thrust than the BR710 engines used in previous generations.Rolls-Royce’s Advance2 Engine has seen an increase in performance thanks to their Technology Demonstrator Program. The upgraded engines have a redesigned core with a new high-pressure compressor, as well as a sophisticated engine Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) that monitors the health of critical systems and components. This enables early detection of developing problems and their correction before they have an immediate impact on operational safety. The engines have low-emission combustion, a two-stage high-pressure turbine, and lightweight components that can withstand elevated temperatures. The Global 5500 has a maximum altitude of 51,000 feet. It ascends at a speed of 3,450 feet per minute. Bombardier Pur Air is a complex and advanced air purification system that utilizes a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter to purify and clean the air. Bombardier Pur Air, which is available solely on Global aircraft, offering both purified and 100 percent fresh air, providing cleaner air with higher humidity and faster heating and cooling than 100 percent fresh air only systems.

FLIGHT DECK GLOBAL 5500
The Global 5500 is equipped with the Rockwell Collins Combined Vision System (CVS), which combines infrared Enhanced Vision System (EVS) and Synthetic Vision System (SVS) pictures to provide a single uniform vision. The CVS integrates both vision systems across the display in order to offer the pilot with the greatest possible perspective in a single dynamic image and to provide situational awareness in real time. All of which exponentially increases overall operational safety. The Global 5500’s avionics suite has an upgraded weather radar for wind shear prediction, Airport Moving Maps, real-time air traffic, and an updated terrain database that acts as a digital representation of the terrain’s elevation at a number of remote and technical locations.
