BRIEF HISTORY – GULFSTREAM G400

GULFSTREAM G400 (2003-2006, 2021-Present)
Meet the most modern and powerful fleet in Gulfstream history. Their portfolio is reshaping the future of business aviation. The new Gulfstream fleet is an investment in your success, built on next-generation technology and adapted to meet your evolving demands. The Gulfstream G400, the second model in the Gulfstream G series, features one of the most spacious cabins in its class, is among the fastest aircraft in its class, and is particularly noted for its large cargo capacity. It offers convenient nonstop flights between New York and London, Orlando and Anchorage, and Dubai and Tokyo, among other places.Gulfstream began using turbofan engines in 1967 and continued to produce the aircraft until 1980, when the Gulfstream III became the top business jet. However, in order to improve the GIV’s noise level and fuel efficiency, Gulfstream’s engineers picked the Rolls-Royce turbofan. Since the GIV’s launch, various variations have been created, the most recent being the Gulfstream G400. The Gulfstream G400 began production in 2003 and concluded in 2004. 23 aircraft were produced. Gulfstream would replace the G400 with the G450 variant in 2004.

CABIN COMFORTS – GULFSTREAM G400
The Gulfstream’s cabin may be configured in a variety of ways. The G400 is often built to accommodate 10 to twelve passengers in an executive arrangement. This private business jet can accommodate nine to twelve people. The Gulfstream G400’s cabin is over 35 feet long (excluding cockpit and lavatory)  6 ft 2 in tall, and spans a width over 7 and a half feet with a floor width of 5 ½  feet. This private business jet has a baggage storage capacity of 174 cubic feet, which is capable of carrying 2,000 pounds of luggage. Eight windows round the cabin, creating a bright, tranquil atmosphere ideal for leisure or work. The G400’s maximum cabin pressure difference is 9.5 psi, which enables it to maintain a sea-level cabin altitude at a height of 25,800 feet. The G400 features a full stand-up cabin, a spacious galley, and a full-sized washroom with a shower. The G400 is the ideal combination of efficiency and comfort, with a well-sized, well-appointed cabin that facilitates your travel. With separated living spaces, optimal floor plans give ample room for meetings, work, and leisure. Thrive in a 100% fresh air environment that is refilled every two minutes and has the lowest cabin altitude in its class.

POWER AND PERFORMANCE – GULFSTREAM G400
Two Rolls-Royce Tay Mk 611-8 medium bypass, axial-flow turbofan engines power the G400. Each engine has a take-off thrust rating of 13,850 pounds. On a standard day, the Gulfstream G400 needs only 5,000 feet of runway to take off at sea level. This increases to 8,320 feet of runway at an altitude of 5,000 feet. The G400 requires only 3,190 feet of runway to land with four passengers. The G400 is capable of rising to an altitude of 37,000 feet in under seventeen minutes and has a maximum certificated service ceiling of 45,000 feet. The G400’s range is 4,200 nautical miles, which provides several destination alternatives for your commercial operation. For longer-range flights, the G400 can cruise at 567 knots at an altitude of 45,000 feet in a long-range cruise mode. If you’re looking for a quick journey, the G400 can cruise at 589 knots at an altitude of 41,000 feet in a high-speed cruising mode while maintaining a cabin pressure of 3,255 feet!

FLIGHT DECK – GULFSTREAM G400
The Honeywell SPZ-8000 integrated digital flight guidance system was chosen as the G400’s avionics suite. This system includes an Electronic Flight Information System (EFIS), which consists of six eight-inch by eight-inch monitors.  Outfitted with Two Collins radios, a flight management system, and dual Honeywell laser inertial reference systems (IRSs). Some other systems outfitted to the aircraft would be a triple laser inertial navigation system (INS), an air-to-ground telephone, and twin FMS are available.Gulfstream’s award-winning Symmetry Flight Deck has transformed pilot operations, significantly increasing safety and efficiency. Through tactile clues, active control side sticks facilitate nonverbal communication between pilots. The most comprehensive usage of touch-screen displays in the industry, combined with Phase-of-Flight intelligence, significantly decreases pilot effort and flight start-up time. Gulfstream’s award-winning Predictive Landing Performance System makes use of real-time data to help pilots maintain situational awareness throughout approach. Pilots can make appropriate micro-adjustments to assist in avoiding runway overruns using continually updated data.
