BRIEF HISTORY – GULFSTREAM G600

GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE G600 (2019-PRESENT)
The Gulfstream G600 is the larger brother of the Gulfstream G500 and replacement for the GV model. Both planes made their public debuts in 2014. The pair of aircraft were so popular that in the second quarter of 2017, they accounted for 80 percent of all Gulfstream orders. However, the G500 has always been a few steps ahead of the G600 in terms of manufacturing and development. While the G500 flew for the first time in mid-2015, the G600 did not take flight until the end of 2016. Additionally, while the initial G500 was developed in September 2018, the initial G600 did not reach customers until August 2019. The first EASA-certified aircraft was delivered to an Austrian operator in December 2020.The G600 is capable of near-supersonic flight. This has enabled the G600 to set over 20 speed records, including a record-breaking 7 hours and 21 minute flight from Savannah to Geneva. This was accomplished by traveling at Mach 0.90. Mach 1 is the speed of sound. As a result, the G600 is one of the quickest business jets available. The G600’s can even fly nonstop between New York and Dubai, London and Beijing, and Los Angeles and Shanghai! Notably, fast cruising speeds not only expedite arrival at your destination, but also cut the aircraft’s flying hours. Reduced flying hours equates to reduced overall cost.

CABIN COMFORTS – GULFSTREAM G600
The G600’s interior was designed to help passengers to unwind, work, and dine. Gulfstream developed the G600 with the goal to make its cabin the quietest cabin in the industry. The G600 is equipped with Gulfstream’s venerable 100% fresh air system. Paired  with the low cabin altitude, practically guaranteeing that you arrive rejuvenated at your destination. Gulfstream was able to incorporate fourteen iconic Gulfstream oval windows. These “biggest windows in business aviation” (says Gulfstream) flood the cabin with abundant natural light. Thanks to the size and positioning of the windows as they provide all passengers with breathtaking views out of every window you gaze out of.Passengers onboard will sit on award-winning chairs. These chairs successfully combine elegance, utility, and comfort. Gulfstream was able to leverage client feedback to refine the seat’s dimensions for a perfect fit. Gulfstream was able to minimize pressure spots for ultimate comfort by utilizing precise, digital machining.Up to four living rooms can be built in the G600. There is seating for up to 16 people and sleeping space for up to ten passengers in the four living sections.  The G600 is so opulently outfitted that it has won the International Yacht & Aviation Design Award.

POWER AND PERFORMANCE – GULFSTREAM G600
The G600 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW815GA engines positioned at the rear. Each engine is capable of providing a maximum thrust of 15,680 lbs. This force powers the aircraft to take-off from a runway measuring 5,700 feet and landing the G600 in a 3,100-foot runway 3,100 feet. Along with superior ground performance, Gulfstream has enhanced the G600’s performance in the air. The G600 can travel at a maximum height of 51,000 feet at 600 knots. The G600 has a maximum range of 6,600 nautical miles when configured for long-range cruise.

FLIGHT DECK – GULFSTREAM G600
Take advantage of innovation’s benefits. The Symmetry Flight Deck has active control side-sticks that provide additional visual and tactile input to pilots. Ten touch-screen displays and Phase-of-Flight intelligence increase operating efficiency and redundancy while allowing users simple access to critical information. Our Enhanced Flight Eyesight System (EFVS) enables approved pilots to land in low-visibility circumstances without using their natural vision, therefore enhancing airport access and lowering go-arounds. A Synthetic Vision-Primary Flight Display augments pilots’ situational awareness with 3D representations of topography and runways.
