BEECHCRAFT | B200GT | KING AIR 260 (2021-PRESENT)

BRIEF HISTORY – KING AIR 260
The Super King Air series of aircraft extends all the way back to the 1970s. Since 1974, the family of aircraft has been in continuous production. The aircraft in the family are all powered by twin engine turboprops, which makes the King Air family the longest, continuous production run out of any turboprop family in the world. On December 2, 2020, the King Air 260 was unveiled to the world. The King Air 260 is the most recent evolution of the King Air 200 series now produced by Textron Aviation – Beechcraft. Recent enhancements include an improved auto-throttle, a Multi-Scan weather radar, longer range, and a faster max speed. As is customary with aircraft refreshes, technology in the cockpit has been significantly redesigned and enhanced, as has passenger comfort and aircraft versatility. Beechcraft has released three updates at the same time with the King Air 260, King Air 360, and the King Air 360ER.

CABIN COMFORTS OF THE KING AIR 260
Beechcraft designed the King Air to function as a family room or boardroom on the fly. Executive chairs, side-panel stored tables, power outlets, and optional wireless connectivity are just a few of the comforts that’ll ensure the passengers are as comfortable and as connected as possible. The leather seats have been ergonomically engineered to enhance passenger comfort while working or relaxing.Advanced soundproofing technology and acoustic innovations ensure the most silent turboprop experience achievable. Passengers will notice ample head and shoulder room while seated, ensuring the passengers proper posture to increase comfort on long-haul flights. The King Air 260, according to Beechcraft, is outfitted with more interior amenities than any other Turboprop or aircraft costing millions more. Two retractable work tables, a refreshment center, electronically dimmable windows, power outlets, and an aft lavatory. Behind the lavatory is the heated and pressurized baggage compartment accessible from the cabin. The cabin is configured with four club seats and two forward-facing pedestal seats.

POWER AND PERFORMANCE – KING AIR 260
The King Air 260 is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-52 engines, each of which produces 850 horsepower (shaft horsepower). The propellers consist of Four-Blade composites, designed with constant speed and auto feathering. This permits the King Air to take off at just 2,111 feet and also requires a minimum runway distance of 2,845 feet to land. The aircraft can cruise at a top speed of 310 knots and a maximum height of 35,000 feet. Additionally, when tuned for maximum range, it is capable of flying up to 1,720 nautical miles (1,979 miles / 3,185 kilometers) without refueling.

FLIGHT DECK – KING AIR 260
Beechcraft completely updated the 260’s cockpit avionics and integrated the Pro Line Fusion Avionics Suite. The innovative and simple touch screen flight deck streamlines almost every aspect of the aircrafts operation to free up the pilots attention.By offering auto-throttle control through features such as the IS&S ThrustSense auto-throttle assists in reducing pilot workload. Over-torque and over-temperature protection is standard to ensure the most efficient take off possible.Digital pressurization schedules cabin pressures automatically throughout both ascent and descent, enhancing passenger comfort and lowering pilot workload. Additionally, the MultiScan weather radar is equipped with technology to detect turbulence. With this, the crew can be proactive, not reactive, when avoiding turbulence. This will enhance passenger comfort and overall efficiency. A de-icing system and quick-removal windscreen wipers enable flight in a variety of weather situations, enhancing operational capability and safety.
